กลุ่ม Articles

Determiner กลุ่มนี้จะช่วยบอกว่า Noun แต่ละตัวชี้เฉพาะหรือไม่
มีด้วยกัน 3 ตัว คือ a, an, the  
 

a	an	the
+ คำนามไม่ชี้เฉพาะ	+ คำนามไม่ชี้เฉพาะ	+ คำนามชี้เฉพาะ / มีสิ่งเดียว /        กล่าวถึงมากกว่าหนึ่งครั้ง / รู้กันว่า    หมายถึงอะไร
+ คำนามนับได้ เอกพจน์	+ คำนามนับได้ เอกพจน์	+ คำนามนับได้ / นับไม่ได้ และ    เอกพจน์ / พหูพจน์ก็ได้
+ คำนามขึ้นต้นด้วยเสียงพยัญชนะ	+ คำนามขึ้นต้นด้วยเสียงสระ	อ่านว่า ‘ดิ’ ถ้าคำนามขึ้นต้นด้วยเสียงสระ แต่อ่านว่า ‘เดอะ’ ถ้า คำนามขึ้นต้นด้วยเสียงพยัญชนะ
เช่น  a cat (แมว)	an animal (สัตว์)	the sun (ดวงอาทิตย์)

 

ระวัง!

Noun บางประเภทไม่ต้องมี a, an, the นำ เช่น

1. Noun นับไม่ได้ทั่วไป
   เป็น Noun ที่มาเดี่ยว ๆ คำเดียว ไม่ใช่วลี
   
   เช่น        Sugar isn’t good for your health sometimes.
                (บางครั้งน้ำตาลก็ไม่ดีต่อสุขภาพของคุณ)

              sugar หรือน้ำตาลเป็น Noun นับไม่ได้                             

 

              
 

2. Noun พหูพจน์ทั่วไป
   เป็น Noun ที่ไม่ชี้เฉพาะ พูดถึง Noun ทั่ว ๆ ไป

เช่น        Employees are discussing on the second floor.
              (พนักงานกำลังพูดคุยกันที่ชั้นสอง)

employees หรือพนักงงานเป็น Noun พหูพจน์ แต่ไม่ต้องเติม articles
เพราะไม่ได้เจาะจงว่าเป็นพนักงานคนไหน           
          

 

กลุ่ม Demonstrative

Determiner กลุ่มนี้จะช่วยบอกว่า Noun แต่ละตัวอยู่ใกล้หรืออยู่ไกล เป็นเอกพจน์หรือพหูพจน์
มีด้วยกัน 4 ตัว คือ this, that, these, those
 

เอกพจน์

                                 ใกล้                                                                            ไกล
                                 this                                                                           that     
                            แปลว่า นี้                                                                  แปลว่า นั้น 

 

 

                            this car                                                                      that car
                           (รถคันนี้)                                                                    (รถคันนั้น)
 

พหูพจน์

                                             ใกล้                                                                                    ไกล
                                           these                                                                                 those
                                    แปลว่า เหล่านี้                                                                  แปลว่า เหล่านั้น



                                      these cars                                                                          those cars
                                      (รถเหล่านี้)                                                                         (รถเหล่านั้น)   

 

กลุ่ม Possessive Adjective

Determiner กลุ่มนี้จะช่วยแสดงความเป็นเจ้าของของ Noun นั้น ๆ
มีด้วยกันหลายตัว เช่น my, your, our (Pronoun ที่ + Noun) และ ‘s

เช่น

                                      

                Your bag is beautiful.                                   
                (กระเป๋าของคุณสวย)                                   

 

           
             The man’s phone is black.
          (โทรศัพท์ของผู้ชายคนนั้นสีดำ)

กลุ่ม Quantifier

Determiner กลุ่มนี้จะช่วยบอกปริมาณของ Noun มีด้วยกันหลายตัว
และออกข้อสอบ TOEIC® บ่อยมาก เช่น much, many, few, little
 

                            much                                                                                  
                 แปลว่า  มาก, หลาย                                                                       
                 + คำนามนับไม่ได้                                                                                                                                                 

เช่น          I don’t have much time.                                              
                (ฉันมีเวลาไม่มาก)                                                            

                                                 

                           
                          many
                แปลว่า มาก, หลาย
            + คำนามนับได้พหูพจน์       

เช่น      She has many cats.
            (เธอมีแมวหลายตัว)

          
 

                             few                                                                                    
          แปลว่า น้อยหรือแทบไม่มีเลย                                            
             + คำนามนับได้พหูพจน์                                                                                                                                            

เช่น         They have few chairs.                                                       
               (พวกเขาแทบไม่มีเก้าอี้เลย)                                           

                                                     
 

                             little 
          แปลว่า น้อยหรือแทบไม่มีเลย 
                    + คำนามนับไม่ได้    

เช่น         He has little hope.
               (เขาแทบไม่มีความหวังเลย)
